Not far from the Theater of the Estates, you can find the Carolinum (the Great Hall of Charles University), the site of the oldest university in Central Europe, founded by Charles IV in 1348. Besides the activities of the University itself, such as ceremonies and graduations, the Carolinum has exhibition halls and it also holds concerts of chamber music.
