He was cautiously optimistic, when Radio Prague caught up with him on Friday on his way to Munich.

Sparta Prague look set for the final qualifying stage of the Champions League, while Teplice are up against it in the Intertoto Cup after games on Wednesday. Czech football has been hit by a minor drugs scandal, but the substance in question is not illegal.
