The Czech Medical Chamber says it’s drafted an apology to Jewish doctors struck off its books during the so-called Second Republic - the short period between the end of democratic Czechoslovakia and the beginning of Nazi occupation. Long before the Germans invaded, a number of Czech professional organisations started banning Jews from their ranks, motivated by a combination of Nazi propaganda and economic self-interest.

A gay association has called for the Czech legal landscape to be redrawn allowing individual members of gay couples to be allowed to adopt children. The demand is backed up by legal analysis and a 2,000 signature petition calling for action.

It’s been sixty years since the legendary Czech three-wheeler, Velorex, first took to the road. Ridiculed by some and admired by others, the curious vehicle gained many fans around the world. Now, the legend is back – on Wednesday, a luxurious remake of the vehicle was unveiled at a car show in Brno.
