Support Lesbiens headed by frontman Krystof Michal are one of the Czech Republic's most well-known bands which - with the exception of a major five year hiatus - have been around since the early 90s. On the occasion of their newest release "Euphony and Other Adventures" I met with Krystof Michal to discuss a bit of the band's history. Support Lesbiens - past and present - in today's Arts.

In this week's Arts, we visit the Mirror Chapel of Prague's Clementinum, where a new exhibition has just opened. It is part of the MOZART PRAGUE 2006 project launched this year to mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of the great Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

In the Arts this week we look at Prague's annual Music on Film - Film on Music festival or MOFFOM as it's known, which was held for the third time last week. This year's festival was bigger and better than ever, and brought dozens of films about music to the Czech capital. These ranged from classic full-length features like Julien Temple's The Great Rock 'n'Roll Swindle starring The Sex Pistols to documentaries, experimental movies and promotional videos.

Six years ago Czech film director David Ondricek scored a huge hit in the Czech Republic with the film "Samotari" - or "Loners" - a hip and funny comedy depicting the quirky and wayward lives of twentysomethings in the Czech capital. Ever since, audiences have come to expect a lot from the director -more so following the disappointment that was his third film "One Hand Can't Clap". Now, the director is back with "Grand Hotel" (Grandhotel in Czech) - just released in the cinemas. What's the film about? In today's Arts you'll find out.

The Prague Bollywood Festival, now in its fourth year, all came about back in 2003, when three friends - students at Prague's Film Academy FAMU - organised a few showings of Indian films for their fellow students. The following year they decided to organise a real film festival, at Zizkov's arthouse Aero Cinema. That was such a resounding success, so they did it again the next year.

In the shadow of the church of the St. Germain de Pres on the Rue Bonaparte, the staff of the Czech Cultural Center waved visitors in to the closing celebration of a unique exhibition of the work of 10 contemporary Czech artists. The hands-on experience of Orbis Pictus comprised three floors of fantastical, whimsical instruments and machines, all of which could be touched and many of which could be used to create sounds and music.

Some of the best things come about by chance, and that is certainly the case with an exhibition that opens on 27th September in the beautiful Baroque Clam-Gallas Palace in Prague's Husova Street. The show includes dozens of photographs from the turn of the century, by a photographer who for nearly 90 years has been almost completely forgotten. Over nearly four decades Karel Kruis (1851-1917) took thousands of photographs. Some are portraits of public figures, others depict country people going about their lives, and many record a rural Czech landscape

In this week's edition of the Arts, a festival of Iranian culture in Prague, at a difficult time for relations between Iran and the West. And an exhibition of photos from the Broumov region - once home to a large German community - is launched at Prague's Goethe Institute.

Just when you thought Prague couldn't support another special film event, think again. In roughly two weeks' time the Kino Svetozor in the city centre will host the Manhattan Short film festival, known previously only in the US for allowing up-and-coming filmmakers to get their work seen by wider audiences than they were used to before.
