In today's Arts: a look at Milos Forman's new film Goya's Ghosts, starring Natalie Portman and Xavier Bardem. (A gala premiere was held in Prague this week). Also, a new exhibition looks at the work of 20th century Czech-American photographer Drahomir Josef Ruzicka.

Romano Hiphop is the title of the latest CD by the Czech Romany rap artist Gipsy. The album is actually released under the name Gipsy.cz, because this time he has collaborated in a group project with other Romany musicians. When I met Gipsy in a Prague café, he told me why - unlike on his previous release Ya Favourite CD Rom - he had incorporated traditional Gypsy music this time round.

The Czech Republic has many claims to fame but one of its greatest and most curious regarding the arts is the country's unique history of Cubist architecture, celebrated in an exhibition and recent new book named "Czech Architectural Cubism". Both book and exhibit provide a comprehensive and fascinating overview of the brief periods before and after World War I, which saw notable Czech architects inspired by Cubist principles. In many ways, the 007 music club is a unique piece of Prague's cultural heritage. Situated in block seven of a row of concrete panelled buildings, which comprised the athletes' village constructed for the communist games in the 1960s, it has been a venue for alternative, underground music for nearly 20 years.

Ecstasy of St Theresa were founded in the early 1990s by Jan P. Muchow, who now also composes for films, as well as producing other artists and providing the music for advertisements. The group went through numerous line-up changes before settling to its current form of Muchow and Katerina Winterova, a successful actress at Prague's National Theatre. Four years after their last album Slowthinking, Ecstasy of St Theresa are back with a new collection, Watching Black.

Sestka - or "the Six" - is an ongoing series of exhibitions at the Prague House of Photography, featuring work by up-and-coming photographers from six of the country's most important photography schools, including AVU's New Media Studio and Prague's FAMU film academy. But, at the moment, the gallery is showing an installation by students and graduates from Usti nad Labem's University of J.E. Purkyne, in north Bohemia. The opening was held shortly before the start of the holidays.

Coming up in this week's programme - the eagerly-awaited release of Jiri Menzel's adaptation of I Served The King Of England by the legendary Czech author Bohumil Hrabal. And four young Czech women bring the sounds of Africa to the heart of Central Europe - the Yellow Sisters talk about Mayan oracles, Gambian rhythms and their new album, Singalana.

In this week's edition of the Arts I'll be speaking to a modern-day troubadour - a half-Czech, half-English female troubadour, who sings in eight different languages and borrows inspiration from the folk traditions of countries as diverse as France, Bulgaria, Russia and Ireland. Her name's Katus.

In this week's edition - playwright Vaclav Havel takes New York by storm in a major retrospective of his works, and also picks up the theatre awards he was denied for more than two decades. And the highly successful Czech film Kolya celebrates its tenth anniversary.

A new exhibition at Prague's Wallenstein Riding School displays some 400 paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints from the 14th to 18th centuries. Divided into three periods - the Golden Age of the Luxembourgs, the Glamour of Rudolfine Prague, and the Baroque Flamboyance of Monasteries and Palaces. Dita Asiedu toured the exhibition with its main curator Vit Vlnas.
