MALMO FF - SLAVIA PRAHA 1:2 (0:0)
Goals: 83rd: A. Andersson - 70th: Asanin, 86th: Vagner

In Malmo, Sweden, Slavia repaired their reputation after their disgraceful departure from the Champion's League at the hands of Zurich's Grasshoppers. Although a better team at the end of the game, Slavia did waste a scoring chance in the first half. The Red-and-Whites had to wait until the 70th minute for their goal, when Asanin headed in Horvath's corner. The home team was already a man short, as Wirmol had recieved a red card for a foul on the penetrating Penicka a short time before. The Swedes went on to even the score, however, on a defensive mistake by the visitors, but the last word belonged to Vagner, alone in front of the goaltender on a long kick by Stejskal for the winner. This last goal by Slavia was too much for Malmo's Beuken, who left early with his second yellow card.
